Must-Try Korean foods in Seoul

Seoul is the capital and a very busy city. It is where you can see the glam of the country. The city never sleeps so you can experience a full-day trip and you won’t be running out of destinations. Aside from visiting various tourist attractions, it is highly recommended to explore their interesting and iconic foods. Here are some of them:

Kalguksu is noodle dish that is really loved by Korean. This dish is very iconic and there are different versions of it you can try. You can also stick to the original and traditional recipe. This dish is basically made of Korean knife-cut noodle and hot soup. The taste is quite light and refreshing. It is best to enjoy during winter when the temperature tends to be lower. You can also try other variations such as kimchi kalguksu or chicken kalguksu. 

Jajangmyeon is also noodle dish. It is basically made of Korean noodle with thick black bean sauce. To really enjoy it, you have to mix the sauce and the noodle thoroughly until all the noodle is covered with the thick, rich sauce. It is usually served with Tangsuyuk. It is a deep-fried pork with sweet and sour sauce. You can say Jajangmyeon as Korean spaghetti. This food is easy to find. In Seoul, you can find it almost in every Korean-Chinese restaurant. 

Dakgalbi is also a very popular Korean food you can easily find in Seoul. It is basically stir-fried chicken. The chicken is marinated in special sauce made of Gochujang or Korean chili paste. Other condiments of this dish include sweet potatoes, scallions, rice cake, perilla leaves, cabbage, and many more. Korean people also like to eat this dish with rice or noodles. You can pick either one of it. 

Bingsu is Korean dessert. It is basically shaved ice with various toppings. You can choose the type of toppings as you’d like. For example, cakes, fruits, bean or nuts. The most iconic one is pat bingsu. It is shaved ice with red bean as the main topping. Bingsu is also usually added with syrup or condensed milk to make it taste sweet. It is the most favorite snack during summer in Korea. 

Various street foods can also be found in Seoul. Some of the most iconic ones include tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), Hotteok (sweet Korean pancake), Odeng (fishcake on skewers with broth), Gimbap (Korean sushi rolls), Sundae (Korean blood sausage), Bungeoppang (goldfish bread), and many more.
