But, whatever that I have not been mentioned above, you may keep them for yourself or telling the other travellers. So, what if we jump right into the way to setting up your hammock tarp for camping?! And for that, I have listed all the required steps that also are easy to be followed. Here they are.
1. Know the shape of your hammock tarp camping
I don’t know exactly about how many shape of the hammock tarp, but there are at least 4 of them that I have seen. They are asymmetrical, rectangular, diamond or square, hexagon or catenary, and the last is the tent tarps. The most basic shape for hammock tarp camping is the rectangular one. It is like folding the paper into two parts with the same length or corner.
Most of those shape will have at least 6 corners where 2 of them will be the upper cantilevers or the ridgeline and the last 4 will need to be tied to the stands or the trees. Except the tent tarp’s shape that is different and have more of the corners.
By knowing the shape of the hammock tarp that you bring, you will know how many stands will be needed to perfectly setting it up.
2. Hanging your hammock first
It is better to tied up your hammock first before working with its tarp. Especially in helping you to determine the ridgeline as the middle line so the tarp will have the balanced width and length for all the angles. If you don’t find any stands around, you could simply setup your hammock above the ground without hanging on it.
Hanging or setting up your hammock first is also will be helpful in case the weather is so cold or anything, so that you could take a rest or warm yourself then continue your working later.
3. Tied up your hammock tarp
As you have just setup your hammock, then you should have also determined the ridgeline for the tarp. Then, by knowing the shape of your tarp as I have told above, I am sure that you will be automatically know where the first angle should be tied first and so on. If you are setting the hammock on the ground or simply use the sleeping bag as your bed, you can look around and you may can stick or held the tarp’s corners down with the rocks.

- If by any chance the weather is changing to start raining, you can start by setting up your tarp as your first move and you can avoid the step 2 above. Right after you have set the tarp, then you could setting up your hammock underneath it.
